Overview
A mid-size, family-owned manufacturing company partnered with VIVO to fill a newly created HR Director position–a critical role in supporting their workforce and building out their internal HR function.
Challenge
This was a newly-created role for the company, which often presents a bit of a learning curve for hiring teams as they figure out what they want in a candidate. The HR Director also needed to be fluent in Spanish to assist with their many Spanish-speaking team members. This combination of leadership experience, Spanish fluency, and an evolving understanding of the role from the leadership team added a layer of complexity to the search.
VIVO Solution
In addition to posting the job and reviewing applicants, we also proactively sourced passive candidates who appeared to have the required skills. We focused on candidates who listed being fluent in Spanish as a skill, as well as those who were in the same metro area as the client (due to this being an on-site role). This hands-on sourcing strategy took additional time and effort to build a bench of qualified candidates using alternate online platforms.
Result
After reviewing hundreds of applicants, conducting interviews, and vetting candidates, we delivered a shortlist of eight highly qualified individuals to the hiring managers, who were impressed with the candidates’ quality and experience. Within the desired timeline, VIVO successfully secured an excellent HR Director who brought the right mix of leadership and language proficiency to make a strong impact in their company.
